A Ghanaian lawyer, Silas Boateng, has been elected President of the Middle Temple Young Barristers’ Association, representing junior members of one of the United Kingdom’s four Inns of Court.
The association represents barristers in the early stages of their careers who were called to the Bar at the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.
It provides support, advocacy and professional development opportunities for young members of the Inn.
Mr Boateng was elected on 7 April 2026, with the result announced on 20 April.
He previously served as Vice President of the association from 2025 to 2026.
Born in Ghana, he obtained his law degree from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in 2020.
He later completed the Bar course at the University of Law in the UK before being called to the Bar at Middle Temple, joining the Inn in 2021.
His election follows several leadership roles during his academic and professional career, including serving as a debate officer within the Middle Temple Students’ Association and holding positions in student governance at GIMPA.
Mr Boateng is expected to represent and support early-career barristers called to the Bar of England and Wales at Middle Temple, one of the most prestigious legal institutions in the United Kingdom.
